Bridget Deacon

Bridget is Managing Director of Shujaaz Inc, a network of social ventures based in Nairobi, Kenya. Here she is responsible for Shujaaz, an Emmy award-winning team of young East African creatives, researchers and strategists who work alongside young people to make authentic, engaging media that reflects the reality of youth culture, without filter or judgement. Throughout her career, from the BBC drama department in London to Shujaaz in Kenya, Bridget has used the superpower of story to connect young people with the inspiration, self-belief and knowledge they need to imagine the future they want – and the support to make it happen. Bridget has grown Shujaaz over the years, now leading a team of over 40, working on award-winning projects with partners including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Ikea Foundation, USAID & FCDO and corporates including Coca Cola, Vodacom and Unilever.
