When the Words Away Went
Stroke Association
The Stroke Association produced a documentary ‘When the Words Away Went’ which featured on All 4 as part of a campaign to raise awareness of aphasia.
The documentary told the story of three stroke survivors embarking on a journey to find their voice and rebuild their lives, the challenges they face daily and how the charity has helped rebuild their lives
PR activity featured new research by the Stroke Association which found over half of the UK didn’t know what aphasia was. Case studies from across the UK told their story to raise awareness of the impact of the devastating condition and direct them to the documentary to gain a deeper understanding.
The PR and social activity further enhanced the significance of the documentary and raised awareness across a different demographic. The campaign also allowed a space for aphasia resources to be promoted so that more people with aphasia can get the information they need to help them with their recovery.
