You Can Foster (Winter 2021)

Fostering Hampshire Children’s 2021 Winter campaign was a pioneering campaign aimed to raise awareness of Hampshire County Council’s fostering service and galvanise Hampshire residents to become foster carers in their community – a much needed ask considering more than 1,600 children are in the care of Hampshire County Council at any one time.

Combining rich and heartfelt emotion to tell a touching narrative of a foster child discovering a foster family this Winter, this campaign was the apex of a year’s work of transforming Fostering Hampshire Children from an informative fostering service to a living, breathing, responsive and dynamic public sector organisation that champions fostering to its residents and seeks the best possible outcome of its foster children.

Present across TV, Radio, and social media as well as traditional marketing channels at an experiential level across the community – the campaign made waves across the public and charity sector for its charming animation and heart felt authentic narrative. This was critical during a period of the year in which fostering typically struggles to gain traction in the community.

A resounding success – reflected by both its huge growth at an awareness level (huge social media engagement and record-breaking web traffic) combined and enquiry level (easily surpassing seasonal Winter targets for formal foster carer enquires); the campaign will now be a platform for the organisation in 2022 to continue to push the envelope creatively and pioneer new ways to reach the most loving and dedicated members of our Hampshire community.
